Thanks (for nothing) Obama!

The biggest tragedy of 2009 has been the death of the US news media.   How sad that our newspapers have become cheerleaders for the Left!  There are so many untold stories out there;  yes, they can be found on the internet with ease, reducing the power that the press once had over society.  I don’t know which came first– did the loss of media honesty lead to alternative sources of information?  Or did the presence of new ‘fact checkers’ lead the media to lose their sense of responsibility, assuming that they could report on whatever they chose, or more importantly NOT write on whatever they chose, and that someone ELSE would be in charge of the truth?  We are lucky that they both occurred at the same time, in any case.

Our embarrassing president is taking a break from preparing his smoke and mirrors speech about Afghanistan to attend a climate change meeting in Denmark.  This meeting occurs on the heels of a major story about the years of falsification of scientific data by environmental groups, showing very clearly that ‘global warming’ or ‘AGW” or whatever you want to call it is nothing but a political stunt.  The cast a can be divided between the true believers, AKA ‘useful idiots’ including the Hollywood celebrity/high school drop-out crowd, vs the people who manipulated data, covered up the truth, smeared the scientists brave enough to tell the real story…  I don’t know where Gore will come in, as he appears to be both- part idiot and part self-righteous manipulator and profiteer.

I encourage anyone who has not yet read the story go to the British press and read about Climategate.  There is one writer in particular who has  explained the situation very well– the type of writer we used to picture at our own newspapers.  He writes about the recent exposure of large-scale falsification of data by the global warming alarmists, and takes the reader through the raw data– before and after the outright falsification of the data by those trying to create the story of climate change.  As he points out, there is such a thing as ‘man-made climate change’– only the changes are made by men who are altering data points, not from changes in the earth’s temperature.

Then there is the story in Afghanistan.  Obama claimed to have a ‘plan’ for Afghanistan before being elected president—which was necessary, as only fools would elect a man without a plan to be the next president at a time of war.  But when our Generals asked for help, obama was clueless– and the media, save Fox, ignored the story.  We waited for months, and the cost has been huge.  If you want to learn about the costs, try the UK’s Telegraph, in a recent column that describes how obama’s inability to act decisively and mixed messages has cost support from our former allies and cost the morale– and lives– of our soldiers who have battled the growing Taliban forces using deficient support and planning.

You won’t read about these stories in the US media.

But again the good news…  the hacks at the NYT have put themselves out of business, as people have no need to read news that isn’t news, or pay to miss stories that are news.  And as the US public reads about the falling opinion of our country abroad, the falling status of the US currency under the reckless spending of the Dems in Congress and our fool obama, and the lack of decisiveness of our ‘commander’ in chief,  it becomes more likely that we will only suffer ‘change’ for 4 years, not 8.  And if obama continues to show utter contempt for the American people, his current Rasmussen poll numbers– negative 15 and falling– will look rosy in comparison to where they will stand next November!

I could scarcely believe my ears when I heard the news this morning– that obama is STILL WAITING on the Afghanistan decision– i.e. whether to anger his liberal pals– like his friend who bombed US buildings in the 1960′s, for example– or realize that he is the only person now who has the job of running our military as Commander in Chief.    Obama acts like he is still back in Chicago snorting coke with his friends debating the war, instead of making a DECISION.  Yes, by the way, he used to snort coke- something that seemed more interesting to the press in regard to Bush than in regard to our current schmuck president.

Can you imagine being the parent of one of our brave young people over in Afghanistan?  The Generals have asked for help, and your child is under fire from snipers and a growing number of enemy forces– and obama has waited for weeks– months, actually– without making a decision.  Wow.  I am sorry– to the people in that position, I am sorry for what this country has done to you and to your child or children.  I am sorry they have elected a person who lacks any decisiveness;  someone who has always taken the easy path to popularity, who couldn’t even bring himself to vote in the STATE government on controversial topics!  How could people have placed him in this position?!  I am sorry that your children are being killed, while the ‘commander’ parties at fund-raising events.  I am sorry that the media plays along, knowing full well that he is just hoping that it will all go away– even if that means defeat for our country and the deaths of our soldiers.  I am sorry that this country elected someone who cares more about the countrymen of faraway hostile places than for our own soldiers.  What a disgrace.

Here is a link to one such mother– a mother who is asking for help.  Can you imagine being in her shoes?  To realize that your son or daughter is being used as a political pawn, rather than to uphold the ideals that led him/her to risk life in the first place?

We know, obama– we know you are young, new, weak, and afraid to do something that will cost you the applause of the ignorant.  And we know you are just waiting until the dust clears and the American people quit bothering you.  But look at it this way–  everyone will hate you anyway, as even the dumb people read things and find out why their taxes are going up, why interest rates will skyrocket, and why the only job growth has been in the government sector.   Yes, you have liberals writing the textbooks, and that will protect you to some extent… but the mess you have created is so horrible that bias only goes so far!  You are surely going down in history as the biggest mistake caused by ‘white guilt’ that a country has ever made… so you might as well do the right thing.

Besides– have you NO shame?

This next year promises to be loads of fun.  For a short time, even the people who knew that obama was a liar and a charismatic egomaniac were thinking that maybe– just maybe– he was a bright guy.  I hate to admit it, but I even suspected it for a short time right after he was elected– until I saw the trillion in ‘stimulus money’ that he wasted on pork and favors and thought to myself, ‘a smart guy would wait and make sure that the economy is coming back, before essentially using up every bit of ammunition that the country had to beef up ACORN and the teachers’ unions.  When I saw that he made no effort to follow the money at all– instead letting it go the the states so they could avoid making the proper cuts to government that are required during times of skyrocketing deficits, resulting in the loss of the stimulus money, creating the ridiculous and never-reported obama deficit of 2 TRILLION dollars this year (last year obama said that Bush’s deficit of $440 billion– less than 25% of obama’s deficit– was ‘immoral’ for the burden it placed on our children!  Anyone see a reporter anywhere??  Me neither…).  Plus, since the money was simply tossed to the states without any oversight (remember obama saying he was going to be careful with the money?  Or do you remember the web site at the ‘number’ that biden told us about, that would list all of the spending?) the states simply spent it– without any effort to reign in spending.  Many states are on the of bankruptcy.

I’m curious– since obama isn’t responsible for anything bad (and still somehow did all these good things on the days some good numbers comes out), who should the new Governor of NJ blame problems on?  Does he get to blame obama for the huge run-up in unemployment since obama took office?  It doesn’t matter actually, first because Republicans are not ‘blamers’- they understand the concept of ‘honor’– but second, even if obama himself was seen car-jacking a minivan full of jobs and driving them off a pier into the Hudson, no press would be around to mention it!

There has been a bit of fun on TV the last few days.  The new series ‘V’ shows that at least SOMEONE with a bit of creative blood understands what is going on– and the producer should get the Nobel prize for satire (if there was such a thing).  We had the elections, of course– Pelosi declared ‘we won’, making me wonder just what a ‘loss’ would look like…  But I haven’t mentioned the two most interesting stories of the past couple days.  The first is that even a couple mainstream news outlets had the guts to tell the truth about the ‘jobs created by the stimulus’.  They did what they used to do all the time– investigate the claims from the White House– and they found that the numbers were downright… silly.  So they asked the flunkie of the day to explain where the numbers came from, the flunkie explained that government workers got raises from the stimulus (how does that FEEL, by the way??), and if someone got a raise, that job was considered ‘created or saved’.  Did you hear the woman from the administration explain the logic?  I think she actually believed what she was saying!  ‘If you get a raise, then SOME of your job was created’, she said.  I wonder– did Biden come up with that one?

Then there is keith olbermann.  I get such a kick out of him and that real unattractive woman who is also on MSNBC–  rachel madow, is it?  Something like that– I know it rhymes with ‘cow’.  If you haven’t yet, go on Drudge and look at the cable numbers sometime.  What’s cool is to then turn on one of their shows– or chris matthews is another one– and their numbers are so low that you’ll see them pop up when you turn on the channel!!  Look– now it is Fox News 4 million viewers, and msnbc just went from 732 to 733 viewers!

Olbermann is the guy who would talk about the ignorance of Palin, and talk down the credentials of others while dropping the name ‘Cornell’ about his own education… never mentioning that he went to the Ag school– not the tough Ivy-league university that he wanted others to think that he attended.   Despite chatter that is much more partisan than anything on Fox, obama has yet to take them to task for claiming to be ‘news’ reporters.  Of course going by viewership he would have to go after all of the ‘waynes world’ shows coming from basements that have larger draws than MSNBC!!

Anyway, my final comment was just a chuckle over olbermann, a guy who has nothing– and I mean NOTHING– to offer.  He reminds me of the black comics of the 80′s when Richard Pryor had some truly funny things to say, with a number of ‘f’ words thrown in… then along came Eddie Murphy and other comics who had the f word and nothing else.  For a few years any black comic could just swear in a more graphic manner than the previous guy, and people would laugh… then all of a sudden it wasn’t funny.  Olbermann rode the anti-Bush derangement syndrome as far as he could, getting applause just for saying ‘bush stinks’.  But now he doesn’t have that easy ride, and he has to think of something interesting to say… and both he and that big-boned woman are at a loss for words.  At least matthews keeps trying, getting one liberal congressman after another to ‘go on the record’ (ooohh– good stuff chris!  Pretty daring!).  So now olbermann is trying desperately to ride the coattails of Fox News, who long ago forgot who the guy even IS– and surely don’t watch his show anymore!  Olbermann made some news because he has a list of America’s worst people, and he usually has some Fox people and usually has some Bush relative, or Bush himself, or Cheney… truly!  Check it out!  Olbermann made headlines for telling Beck to ‘go to hell’, to which Beck, a Fox News host who has been drawing huge numbers of viewers, said– Olbermann?  Who’s Olbermann?

Hank in there, keith– things HAVE to get better!  I mean, how much lower can your ratings go before they pull the plug, just for the sake of dignity?

I myself don’t watch TV much;  I like to read newspapers.  I do read the NYT, but not for the news–  I think the best way to gauge the true sentiment for obama is to see how deeply the NYT will cover for him.  If papers like the New York Times ever start telling the truth about obama, he is cooked.  They never will– and not just because they agree with his policies.  They know that if people really knew just what has happened– that the American people were taken in by a young, ignorant, radical black man who hates white, mainstream America (spend 10 minute listening to his hero, Rev Wright, and tell me this is not true!), that the people would turn into crazed masses capable of almost anything.  They MUST keep the American people ignorant, or there will be chaos.
