Thanks (for nothing) Obama!

A couple years ago we knew nothing about obama, and unfortunately our newsmedia abdicated their traditional role of shining a light on stinky politicians– allowing perhaps one of histories ‘stinkiest’ to get elected.  Liberals will view my ‘stinky’ comments as racist of course, and that’s fine– I can’t change their world-view, and don’t really want to.  In fact, I think it best if we let their ‘world views’ shine forth for all to see;  let them take responsibility for the mess that they have created.  If you go back in this blog about 14 months or so, you will see that I have been consistent;  my fear then was that obama would be allowed to pass his ridiculous ‘stimulus plan’, which any non-partisan, educated reader knew was more anti-stimulus than pro-stimulus.  Why?  because businesses want to see an environment that allows growth, before they will commit to hiring. Wouldn’t you?  And businesses saw a trillion dollars of spending, the vast majority on social welfare programs that extended decades into the future, guaranteeing the eventuality of higher taxes.  None of this is rocket science– would YOU risk everything that you owned, to take a shot a growing a business that allowed you to take home a third of what you earned?

The trillion dollars offered nothing for businesses;  it may be a good thing to give money to teachers and unions (if you are a teacher, anyway)– but the money goes to buy them better pensions– not toward creating a job for anyone!  I have always suspected that Dems hated Bush so much that they actually believed the garbage they spewed, about him being ‘stupid.’  Never mind that he graduated from the best business school in the world (and do you REALLY think that being the son of the head of the CIA, a Republican appointee, won classroom favors for W at Harvard?!  If anything he probably had to work twice as hard).  Sure, he couldn’t give speeches as polished as the annointed one– but we all can see just how far THAT talent can carry a country!  The Dems figured that being president must be easy… and figured that the economy would just fix itself.  Don’t waste a crisis– use it to pass an agenda of wasteful social programs…. and the economy will be fine.  Heck, the recession that W inherited got better, right?!

Of course we know the truth;  Bush inherited the 2000-2001 recession, then the 9/11 attacks–  all in the shadow of Clinton’s stock market bubble and burst.  But Bush averted a deeper recession by doing what Reagan did– cutting taxes across the board, for everyone.  In return we had 8 years of economic prosperity, until the housing bubble (pushed in part by Dems who believe that everyone needs a home,  job or not) brought the good times to an end.

Obama did not reduce taxes like Bush did– he instead guaranteed they will rise.  That shuts off any interest in business investment.  But even worse, obama threw away a TRILLION DOLLARS– and added layers of government to the auto industry, the banks, and now healthcare.  So now we are too broke to actually HAVE a stimulus.  Yes, ‘shovel ready projects’ would be nice– if only obama had added them to the trillion dollar scheme that he pushed through in a few days, early last year.  Now we really need that money– today jobless claims rose ‘unexpectedly’ again– but it is too late.  Obama wasted that money, so we have no powder left in our kegs.

The headlines a couple weeks ago: OBAMA, BIDEN LAUNCH ‘RECOVERY SUMMER’.  Two hours earlier, new jobless claims had risen unexpectedly to over 470,000.  Thats another half-million people newly out of work.  We also learned today that manufacturing activity in the Eastern US dropped ‘unexpectedly’ last month.  But obama and biden say it’s ‘recovery summer,’ so let’s all be happy… right?

I was never as impressed with George Orwell’s 1984 as others seemed to be, until now.  The Orwellian comparisons were always at best hyperbole, and at worst liberal paranoia.  So where are those liberals now, when one of their own heroes fits the 1984 nightmare to a T? 

Eric Holder has made a mockery of the Justice Department.  A whistle blower testifies and share evidence documenting the new attitude in the Justice Dept, essentially codified in the logic that Black people cannot be considered racist, no matter what they do.  The Black Panther Party obstructs the polls? 

But WAIT!  Holder says it isn’t so.  The press apologizes and moves on.  ‘Our mistake!’ 

Obama vacation number seven.

I mentioned Biden’s reassurances;  Yesterday he was out crowing again about the ’3 million jobs created OR SAVED.’  This as retail sales drop even lower, and a day before the Fed announces that the economy just ain’t coming back this time around.  But against all the data, obama and Biden talk up the great job they’re doing.  Obama on NBC today said that ‘he got us out of this mess.’  I ask the readers… are we out of this mess?  Obana’s little talk was just before going off on his SEVENTH vacation, so maybe we should excuse his sunny image of the economy.  Everything looks better from the golf course, or so I hear.  But as obama rides off to the links his press agents spew that ‘he is the hardest working president ever.’  The press pull out their erasers.  HARD WORKER, they write.

Nobody has seen obama within a thousand miles of the Gulf of Mexico, or even mentioning the oil disaster… until yesterday, when BP finally sealed a cap on the well.  Suddenly there is obama on the news, talking about what ‘we’ have done so far to cap the leak, and how ‘we’ still have some work to do.  When the oil was gushing, he seemed to say ‘they, they, they.’  As soon as it is capped, it’s ‘we, we, we.’   THAT type of person is what they call… an asshole.  Can’t think of a better name.

Your elected leaders. Ugh.

Then there is Congress.  They passed another textbook filled with rules and regulations to be certain that no capitalism goes unpunished.  The Dow drops 250 points on the news.  But there’s Barney Frank and Chris Dodd in the most ironic naming of a bill as there ever was, telling us that the bill is going to cure cancer and more.  Thanks boys.  Both would have the time to read the bill during a few years in prison if they were ever held accountable to the very same laws that they passed governing others.

To the reader, I ask one thing:  trust your own eyes.  THEY aren’t the things lying to you.

I read an article by Peggy Noonan in the WSJ recently about how despite his ‘accomplishments,’ our boy-president’s number just keep falling.  Every sane American knows the reason why, and Noonan explained the reason for the others– obama has done things for himself, for his own vision of the world, but they are at odds with the wellbeing of the United States.  The health care fiasco?  Obama’s lies were not exposed by the complicit media, so it is only now that the truth leaks out, when it is too late to do anything about it– that the costs were grossly under-reported, that there are NOT savings to be made in Medicare and Medicaid without draconian program cuts, and that you CAN”T keep your doctor.  Oops!  Sorry!

Over the weekend the silly AJ, Holder, said that the reason he hasn’t gotten around to deciding on where to try the mastermind of the WTC attacks was ‘politics.’   Never mind that it is his call;  that he can simply decide and act– he is being held back by ‘politics.’  So what does he expect US to do about it?  Um, Eric, you are in a politically-appointed government job. Politics sort of go with Washington DC!   This from the guy who couldn’t bring himself to say that ‘radical Islam’ motivates people against the US during Congressional hearings about the bang-up job he has been doing. 

Other obama accomplishments this week– we learned that obama was able to prevent the case against the black panther party from going forward– those guys who ‘hate white crackers’ who blocked Philly polling places.  According to obama’s world, you can’t accuse a black man of racism.

Dump Obama, keep Arizona!

Also this week obama and Holder, freed up from prosecuting black racists, announced their intention to sue Arizona for passing a law that says ‘we are enforcing the law.’  In fact, obama announced intent to sue Arizona twice.  If you asked Americans who we should get rid of, I bet more would favor dumping obama than dumping Arizona.

Obama announced another moratorium on drilling in the Gulf.  We had one accident in 40 years of drilling, but he wants to keep his boot on the neck of residents of the gulf.  Don’t let any crisis go unused– and this crisis allows him to try to destroy the country’s energy supply.  Thanks obama.

The bipartisan debt commision that obama appointed a couple months ago was supposed to keep quiet until after November, but someone talked– and admitted that after looking at the real amount that obama is running up in debt, some of the commision members up-chucked.  If someone wanted to destroy the country from within, could they do a better job than obama has one in 18 months?

Now that the slowing of the economy is clear for all to see, someone should point out the obvious– that the stimulus package sucked.  We know that economic growth is stimulated by less government, less regulation, more certainty, and lower taxes.  In the stimulus obama gave us more government, more regulation, more uncertainty, and higher taxes.  Half of the stimulus has not been spent– and much that was spent went to projects that did NOTHING to increase jobs.  Obama still blames Bush 18 mos into his presidency– never mind that Bush also inherited a recession, and also inherited the WTC attacks that could have crippled our economy if poorly handled.  We bounced back from that devastating blow on top of a recession, thanks to good policy.  This one drags on because of poor policy.

We still have cap and tax to look forward to… and obama’s cronies floated balloons about increasing taxes far beyond the expiring Bush tax cuts, including eliminating the mortgage deduction and means-testing Medicare.  And he is still just getting started.
