Thanks (for nothing) Obama!

It takes a massive screw up by a Democratic President, in order to be criticized by news hack and liberal cheerleader Paul Krugman at the NYT.  For 18 months, he and the rest of the liberal MSM have told the public what they SHOULD be seeing and thinking.  To the Times, people outside of ‘the city’ are simpletons who must be led, and who better but the liberal editors at the NYT to do the leading?  After all, they KNOW better.  You may THINK that the expiration of the Bush tax cuts will increase taxes on the middle class, and yes, you will pay more to government when that happens at the end of this year.  But the NYT exists to explain to you that you are thinking all wrong.  Since you paid a higher amount a number of years ago, this shouldn’t really ‘count’ as an increase.  You’re just going ‘back’ to something.  No tax increase here!  By their logic, since the top tax rate was in the 90 percent range before Reagan, an increase ‘back’ to that level wouldn’t really be a tax ‘increase’– it is just a return to the NYT idea of ‘normal!’

Incompetence is hard to ignore

But where was I….  oh yes, Krugman…  he wrote a piece about our idiot leader’s failure to help on the job front.  I have always had my own theory about why an occasional politician will perform so horribly; you would think that the forces of self-protection would prevent a person from being in a position to fail so visibly as obama has over the past year.  I think that the reason is a combination of hubris and hatred.  The hubris is easy to see in obama.  The hatred, though, allowed obama to assume that the job of President must be easy, if Bush can handle it.  Obama bought into the lies by the press, that Bush was ‘dumb’, that he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, etc.  In reality Bush graduated from the best business school– arguably in the world– and he also ran a few companies in his life.  Obama on the other hand ran a storefront.  Filed a few motions for ACORN that were probably actually filed by interns. And collected lots of applause.  Devoid of substance.   And it shows.

Look around at what is going on–  the oil is pumping into the Gulf with minimal response from the Feds.  We finally got a big skimmer down there thanks to Taiwan;  should we be grateful that obama made it happen… after over two months?  Of course he turned away similar help from a number of other countries.  Thanks obama!

We have the war in Afghanistan, where the commanding General was fired after talking to a reporter about what a jerk the president is.  It should be news that a respected General has no respect for his Commander in Chief… but you won’t read THAT anywhere.  The media tried to find something to make the General appear nuts, but in the end all we had was a brave man who had the nerve to call it as it was– and get fired.  But instead of being cowed by the humiliation, the MSM fell over themselves clamoring about the ‘brilliance’ of obama, for deciding to fire the guy.  Yet– THAT sure was a tough call!

Look at the Mexican border–  we have the US suing one of our own states, while our president cozies up to the President of Mexico.  Yesterday bullets from Mexico hit the El Paso city hall.  The day before, 21 people were killed in a shootout in Mexico just over the border from Arizona.  Unregistered illegal immigrants, many smuggling drugs or gang members, flood into our country every night.  But they will vote for a Democrat some day, so obama has nothing to say.  The American people are bitterly divided.  Thanks obama.

Obama just failed to win any converts to his failed economic policies at the G-20 Summit in Toronto.  He got some applause from Chavez.  Way to go, obama!

We learned that obama lied about what scientists had said about a six-month moratorium on off-shore drilling.  The end justifies the means, eh?  Is that it?  When obama lies again in the near future (and of course he will), and he NYT doesn’t report it, did it still happen?

The economy needs help.  Obama wasted a trillion dollars on non-stimulus, so that now when we NEED the money, it is not available.  I’m no rocket scientist, but this is exactly what I said would happen.  Look back at my earlier posts!  Yes, even a blind pig…    but for those who don’t understand, I’ll explain gain.  Obama spent a trillion dollars in his massive ‘stimulus program’ a year ago.  He insisted that it was necessary– that it was ‘targeted’ to make sure that unemployment didn’t rise about 6%.  He told us that his stimulus would rapidly turn things around.  But instead we have only biden the clown, jumping up and down and telling us the sky is not falling.  Thanks biden.  and thanks– for nothing– obama.

It is difficult to write this blog for two reasons- first, every morning there are just so many stunners to take in that one hardly knows where to begin!  The bigger problem is that it is hard to make humor out of what obama has done in his first year to destroy this country.  Those of us with children truly worry about what their lives will be like in a world where ‘acheivement’ is replaced by ‘entitlement’, particularly after three more years of obama’s efforts to enrich the unproductive and tax those with a work ethic.  Does this country NEED another program like obamacare that allows people to skip out on the responsibility to own insurance?  Yes, I know what he SAYS– that he will make people buy insurance.  But he knows that the requirement will be struck down as unconstitutional, and he doesn’t even plan to enforce the requirement on those who ‘can’t afford it’, whatever he decides THAT means.  The result will be the absolute worst-case scenario;  no need to buy insurance until AFTER you are sick, allowing the least responsible among us to avoid premiums when they are healthy, so that we pay more for our own premiums.  People with any savings don’t know what to buy;  do they buy the latest stock market bubble, buy gold, or hold dollars– that will drop in value as the hyperinflation from printing dollars takes hold.

The other day I scanned through Time magazine (in a toilet, the only place I would look at that rag) and read one of their gooey tributes to obama (which is the new format of Time and Newsweek, by the way– they dumped any effort at neutrality to write only what the young and dumb like to read).  I wondered if it was a premonition of 2010– is obama going to continue to blame Bush for the economy into his second year?   Will he EVER be held responsible for the horrible consequences that have already began from his policies?  The lack of jobs as business avoids investing and growing, two things that are difficult in the face of this level of deficit spending!  Had obama stayed inside and watched TV for the past 11  months we would be further along in the recovery!  But we still get goofy joe, prancing around making statements like a B actor…

Obama wins accolades for doing nothing.

This next year promises to be loads of fun.  For a short time, even the people who knew that obama was a liar and a charismatic egomaniac were thinking that maybe– just maybe– he was a bright guy.  I hate to admit it, but I even suspected it for a short time right after he was elected– until I saw the trillion in ‘stimulus money’ that he wasted on pork and favors and thought to myself, ‘a smart guy would wait and make sure that the economy is coming back, before essentially using up every bit of ammunition that the country had to beef up ACORN and the teachers’ unions.  When I saw that he made no effort to follow the money at all– instead letting it go the the states so they could avoid making the proper cuts to government that are required during times of skyrocketing deficits, resulting in the loss of the stimulus money, creating the ridiculous and never-reported obama deficit of 2 TRILLION dollars this year (last year obama said that Bush’s deficit of $440 billion– less than 25% of obama’s deficit– was ‘immoral’ for the burden it placed on our children!  Anyone see a reporter anywhere??  Me neither…).  Plus, since the money was simply tossed to the states without any oversight (remember obama saying he was going to be careful with the money?  Or do you remember the web site at the ‘number’ that biden told us about, that would list all of the spending?) the states simply spent it– without any effort to reign in spending.  Many states are on the of bankruptcy.

I’m curious– since obama isn’t responsible for anything bad (and still somehow did all these good things on the days some good numbers comes out), who should the new Governor of NJ blame problems on?  Does he get to blame obama for the huge run-up in unemployment since obama took office?  It doesn’t matter actually, first because Republicans are not ‘blamers’- they understand the concept of ‘honor’– but second, even if obama himself was seen car-jacking a minivan full of jobs and driving them off a pier into the Hudson, no press would be around to mention it!

There has been a bit of fun on TV the last few days.  The new series ‘V’ shows that at least SOMEONE with a bit of creative blood understands what is going on– and the producer should get the Nobel prize for satire (if there was such a thing).  We had the elections, of course– Pelosi declared ‘we won’, making me wonder just what a ‘loss’ would look like…  But I haven’t mentioned the two most interesting stories of the past couple days.  The first is that even a couple mainstream news outlets had the guts to tell the truth about the ‘jobs created by the stimulus’.  They did what they used to do all the time– investigate the claims from the White House– and they found that the numbers were downright… silly.  So they asked the flunkie of the day to explain where the numbers came from, the flunkie explained that government workers got raises from the stimulus (how does that FEEL, by the way??), and if someone got a raise, that job was considered ‘created or saved’.  Did you hear the woman from the administration explain the logic?  I think she actually believed what she was saying!  ‘If you get a raise, then SOME of your job was created’, she said.  I wonder– did Biden come up with that one?

Then there is keith olbermann.  I get such a kick out of him and that real unattractive woman who is also on MSNBC–  rachel madow, is it?  Something like that– I know it rhymes with ‘cow’.  If you haven’t yet, go on Drudge and look at the cable numbers sometime.  What’s cool is to then turn on one of their shows– or chris matthews is another one– and their numbers are so low that you’ll see them pop up when you turn on the channel!!  Look– now it is Fox News 4 million viewers, and msnbc just went from 732 to 733 viewers!

Olbermann is the guy who would talk about the ignorance of Palin, and talk down the credentials of others while dropping the name ‘Cornell’ about his own education… never mentioning that he went to the Ag school– not the tough Ivy-league university that he wanted others to think that he attended.   Despite chatter that is much more partisan than anything on Fox, obama has yet to take them to task for claiming to be ‘news’ reporters.  Of course going by viewership he would have to go after all of the ‘waynes world’ shows coming from basements that have larger draws than MSNBC!!

Anyway, my final comment was just a chuckle over olbermann, a guy who has nothing– and I mean NOTHING– to offer.  He reminds me of the black comics of the 80′s when Richard Pryor had some truly funny things to say, with a number of ‘f’ words thrown in… then along came Eddie Murphy and other comics who had the f word and nothing else.  For a few years any black comic could just swear in a more graphic manner than the previous guy, and people would laugh… then all of a sudden it wasn’t funny.  Olbermann rode the anti-Bush derangement syndrome as far as he could, getting applause just for saying ‘bush stinks’.  But now he doesn’t have that easy ride, and he has to think of something interesting to say… and both he and that big-boned woman are at a loss for words.  At least matthews keeps trying, getting one liberal congressman after another to ‘go on the record’ (ooohh– good stuff chris!  Pretty daring!).  So now olbermann is trying desperately to ride the coattails of Fox News, who long ago forgot who the guy even IS– and surely don’t watch his show anymore!  Olbermann made some news because he has a list of America’s worst people, and he usually has some Fox people and usually has some Bush relative, or Bush himself, or Cheney… truly!  Check it out!  Olbermann made headlines for telling Beck to ‘go to hell’, to which Beck, a Fox News host who has been drawing huge numbers of viewers, said– Olbermann?  Who’s Olbermann?

Hank in there, keith– things HAVE to get better!  I mean, how much lower can your ratings go before they pull the plug, just for the sake of dignity?

I myself don’t watch TV much;  I like to read newspapers.  I do read the NYT, but not for the news–  I think the best way to gauge the true sentiment for obama is to see how deeply the NYT will cover for him.  If papers like the New York Times ever start telling the truth about obama, he is cooked.  They never will– and not just because they agree with his policies.  They know that if people really knew just what has happened– that the American people were taken in by a young, ignorant, radical black man who hates white, mainstream America (spend 10 minute listening to his hero, Rev Wright, and tell me this is not true!), that the people would turn into crazed masses capable of almost anything.  They MUST keep the American people ignorant, or there will be chaos.
